Here, talented chefs curate inventive breakfast, lunch, break and dinner menus that spotlight honest farm-to-table fare – and the iconic cocktails that accompany these brilliant meals. Grand Hotel Dettling Bourbon Barrel Hot Sauce
How do we make it? Beginning with 1000 pounds of red jalapenos, the Grand chefs begin the process of creating the Grand Hotel’s Bourbon Barrel Hot Sauce. The batch of peppers is grinded up with vinegar and salt. The ground peppers are then stored for two weeks at room temperature to initiate the fermenting process. Next, the batch is heated up to 165 degrees for 45 minutes and then finely puréed. The mixture is then poured into whiskey barrels for three months to age and absorb a hint of the distinct bourbon–soaked barrel flavor. After three months, it is once again reheated to 165 degrees for 15 minutes, strained and then bottled. We have even been known to add a little “lagniappe,” by incorporating local peaches or even habanero peppers into the mix. Grand Hotel Dettling Bourbon Barrel Hot Sauce is offered for sale in the Grand’s Local Market and available in all of our resort’s restaurants for guests to enjoy.  A local favorite and a very special tradition of the Grand’s culinary team, we take pride in creating this year after year from locally sourced farms and bringing it to your table.

Every great hotel has a great bar to steal away to, and 1847 is ours.  1847 is home to the beverage arts, with Grand Garden-to-glass crafted cocktails, local libations and signature wines by the glass all getting in on the act. The signature lounge celebrates the iconic Bucky Miller, a time-honored associate of the Grand Hotel. Combining old traditions with new, the Grand Hall is the focus of the Grand Hotel’s new High Tea. The event has a modern outlook that features savories to balance out the sweets and sparkling wines as a counterpoint to traditional teas, tempting a variety of palates. Stunningly set in the Grand Hall, with sparkling piano music to set the tone, High Tea at the Grand Hotel offers a striking and memorable presentation.

Sweetwater Café

For casual lunch and dinner, the Sweetwater Café is the place. Enjoy the club setting with a beautiful view of our feature pool, 40 acre lake and tennis courts. Our wood-fired stone pizza oven adds atmosphere and flavor! With daily soup, entrée and pizza selections, the seasonal all-day menu also features a nice selection of appetizers, salads, pizzas, burgers & sandwiches. The dinner menu features a fine dining experience in a casual atmosphere with a complimenting wine selection and array of signature cocktails.
