Located along the banks of the Mobile River twenty-seven miles north of modern downtown, ?Old Mobile? served as the capital of French Louisiana until it was relocated to the current site of Mobile in 1711. This important archaeological site is not ordinarily accessible to the public, so you do not want to miss this rare opportunity! The trip requires a short hike. This cruise departs from Live Oak Landing on Hwy. 225 near Stockton.

The stunning Bottle Creek site, accessible only by boat, features 18 earthen mounds built centuries ago by Native Americans and was once of the largest communities in the Southeast. This cruise offered in fall and winter. Wear shoes suitable for hiking about a half mile and bring snacks/water as desired. Please be aware if there are high water levels in the Delta which flood Mound Island, we may need to reschedule. We will notify all guests as early as possible in this event.
